Anton M. "Tony" Dosch, Sr., 83, died on June 22, 2018, peacefully at his home in Hutchinson. He was born March 4, 1935 in Strasburg, North Dakota to Sebastian and Veronica (Schumacher) Dosch. He grew up in Strasburg on the family farm. Tony graduated from Strasburg High School in 1953. Anton married his high school sweetheart, LaRae Mitzel of Linton, North Dakota on May 28, 1956. He and his wife moved to Hutchinson in 1968 . Anton graduated from Pittsburg, Kansas State University in 1976 with a Teaching Degree and taught welding for seven years in the Hutchinson school system He also received his Kansas Real-estate License in 1982. Later in life Tony was employed with the Kansas Reno County Deputy Sheriffs department as Deputy Reserve officer for 10 years. He also was leader of the Boy Scouts of America for 10 years. He was a member of The Iron Workers Local Union 606 and 24 for 60 years. Anton worked with the family construction company for Boeing in Wichita for the last 30 years. Anton held a church membership with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He was active in the Knights of Columbus in Strasburg in 1953 and was a current member of Council #612 Knights of Columbus, becoming a Grand Knight, 4th Degree Knight and the District Deputy while in Hutchinson. He was also a loyal member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed life at his vacation home in Bella Vista, AR. It was here that he was a member of the Bernards Catholic Church. He loved life with his family and friends and was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. In his free time you could find Anton enjoying fishing, polka dancing, traveling, enjoying a sweet treat, story telling, hunting, speaking in German (especially prayers) and gambling (he was lucky!). A favorite phrase of his was "Don't make me get the fly swatter!" Anton was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Survivors include his loving wife LaRae, Hutchinson; five children, son, Anton Dosch Jr and wife Becky, daughter, Candace Beasley and husband Don, son Joseph and wife Cristina; daughter Joyce Armbrust and husband Steven, daughter, Winnie McQueen and husband David, all of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present to great friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will also be held on Friday, June 29, 2018, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus and sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
