Anna Mae Janda, 88, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, at her home in Hutchinson, KS.

Anna Mae was born on August 26, 1935, in Dorrance, KS, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Kepka) Ptacek.  On January 3, 1956, she married Edward F. Janda in Wilson, KS.  They were married for 56 years before his passing in 2012.

Anna Mae graduated from Dorrance High School in 1953 and attended St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS.  She enjoyed spending her time outdoors, where she gardened, fished and went camping.  She also enjoyed quilting and playing bingo.  She attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Lyons, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna; her husband, Ed; a son, Joe Janda; a son-in-law, Gary Campbell and several siblings.

Anna Mae is survived by her six children, Timothy (Stacy) Janda, Donald (Sandy) Janda, David (Sherry) Janda, Marie Campbell, Brenda (Stacey) Janda and Frank (Becca) Janda; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will take place in Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, KS.  The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Hutchinson Funeral Chapel to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
