Albert Lee Hicks, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2021 in Wichita, KS. He was born in Medicine Lodge, KS., on December 22, 1954 to Albert and Beatrice (Guliford) Hicks.

Albert graduated from Medicine Lodge High School and attended Pratt Community College where he received his Associate Degree. On February 9, 1973 he married Ronda Hicks in Pratt, KS. He was a member of New Resurrection Church of Hutchinson and a member of Bethel AME Church and sang in the men's choir.

Albert began working as a cashier at Walmart in 1991. He played Santa Clause for many years. He was a self- employed entrepreneur with seasonal lawn care, snow removal and firewood and loved to farm and take care of animals. Albert enjoyed being around family and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Albert is survived by his children, Albert L. Hicks III and Dawn Hicks; sisters, Anna and Mary Hicks; sister-in-law's, Louise and Vanessa Carter; grandchildren, Kyla, Taiya, Camille, Aiden Stevens, Faith Hicks and numerous nieces and nephews and an Uncle Herbert Guliford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a daughter Aletha Hicks.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021 at New Resurrection Church, 1500 Forrest Ave., Hutchinson, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to New Resurrection Church and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. 67502.
